David De Gea is reinstated as the club’s no.1 goalkeeper but there is no place for Morgan Schneiderlin, with Michael Carrick and Bastian Schweinsteiger preferred to the Frenchman.
As a result of Rooney’s absence summer signing Anthony Martial is the only recognised striker in the squad and he starts on the bench.
